Description:
The Program Specialist 2 is a full-time, classified position at South Seattle College. The office is well funded, with a balanced workload, and supported by upper management that values financial aid's missions, goals, and staff. The Financial Aid Team is well regarded on the South campus as responsive, innovative, and well trained. The Team is supportive of each other and personal growth, values a good work life balance, and has a low rate of turnover. The main functionality of this position is to manage the file exchanges with the Department of Education, federal and state Work Study, act as the Financial Aid liaison with the Promise Scholarship Team, and review and award financial aid. This position will work with students and the public in person, on the phone, over email, and through text messaging to help foster understanding of the financial aid application process. This position requires a detailed understanding of Federal and State Financial Aid regulations, policies, and procedures and is not an entry level position; those that do not meet the minimum qualifications will not be considered for this position.

Qualifications:
•Associates Degree with the intention of completing a BA within 3 years of employment with South
•Minimum 1 year of Federal Title IV Financial Aid experience –individuals without this experience will not be considered for this position
•Excellent attention to detail
•Excellent written and spoken English
